* Free Verse
Free verse is poetry that is generally unrhymed and that doesn't conform to regular metrical schemes. A free verse poem can use language liberally to create images and soundscapes that capture emotions, thoughts and experiences. Lines can be short or long, staggered or set in groupings that help define the writer's meaning. Good free verse is spontaneous, alive and fun to both write and read, and usually possesses an appealing and/or demonstrative rhythm.
